We here at newyorkLongboarder.com are excited about setting up a site
dedicated to us longboarders. At this time, the site will include a Forum
section, Local Happenings, and a daily surf check.
The forum section will be broken down to
three sub sections: Inside, The Impact Zone and Outside.
The Inside section will include
Surfing, Buy and Sell, Environmental and Local Happenings. we've also added an
Ex-Patriots section, we'd love to hear from New Yorkers who have relocated
themselves to other parts of the country and other parts of the world. Anytime
you're homesick, or would like to make us jealous and tell us how great the surf
where you are is, please check in.
The Impact Zone is for
new longboarders to ask questions and seek advice, and we ask our veteran
longboarders to "drop in" to this section from time to time
to.............answer questions and give advice!!
Now to the Outside
section. This section is dedicated to our spiritual minded brothers and sisters.
It is broken down to two sections: Christian Surfers, and Twelve Toes. Christian
Surfers is pretty much self-explanatory, and we'd like to open up the Christian
Surf forum and the Twelve Toes forum to all surfers from around the country and
around the world. The Twelve Toes forum is for those in recovery. Members feel
free to drop in on these two forums. Some may have differing opinions, even to
the point of absolute disagreement with these two philosophies, please feel free
to express your thoughts, we just ask that everybody would be respectful in
their discourse.
The Local Happenings section is
open to all who'd like to let us know what is going on in our beach towns, or
places we can go to support surfers playing in bands, performing in plays,
having an art exhibition etc.....
The Daily Surf Check is just that. We'll give you
a morning (and sometimes afternoon) update on the surf, water temps, wind and
tide. We will not give specifics on on where we are checking, so know how your
beach works on certain tides, winds, etc. Some may frown upon this however the reality
of the 21st century is anyone can find out what the surf is like anywhere at
anytime. We see guys up on the boardwalk taking photos of the surf with there cell
phones and emailing it to their friends for crying out loud!
Again, we'd like to thank you very much for making this
your site. We'd really love to hear from you. Please email any
suggestions/praise to:
